DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, May 29th\,  Commissioner Jennifer Thompson will join community members\, commuters\, project developers\, managers and staff to officially open the much-anticipated widening of south Alafaya Trail at 9:00 AM. The road will be open for public travel immediately following. \n\n\n\nThe project expands the southern portion of Alafaya Trail from a two-lane to a new four-lane divided urban roadway. The project features safety and pedestrian improvements such as additional turn lanes\, two new traffic signals\, and pedestrian paths on both sides of the road\, including a multi-use trail with benches.
