Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - Newly Widened Alafaya Trail
On Thursday, May 29th, Commissioner Jennifer Thompson will join community members, commuters, project developers, managers and staff to officially open the much-anticipated widening of south Alafaya Trail at 9:00 AM. The road will be open for public travel immediately following.
The project expands the southern portion of Alafaya Trail from a two-lane to a new four-lane divided urban roadway. The project features safety and pedestrian improvements such as additional turn lanes, two new traffic signals, and pedestrian paths on both sides of the road, including a multi-use trail with benches.
